2025 Manhattan Grants

Lower Manhattan Cultural Council awards public and private funding to Manhattan-based individual artists, collectives, and nonprofit organizations for the presentation of arts programming in any discipline in Manhattan. Apply for up to $16,000 for a single project in any discipline in 2025.

Center for Book Arts – 2025 Artist-In-Residence Program

Six New York-based artists will receive space, time, and financial support for a year-long residency focused on artists’s books. The program offers a $1,500 stipend, up to $6,000 in tuition waivers for CBA courses, and 24-hour access to printing and binding studios.

YMCA Downtown Writers Center – Stone Canoe Journal Submissions

The literary and arts journal seeks work by artists with strong connections to Upstate New York. Open to all mediums and artists over 18, visual art submissions can include up to five works.

Academy of American Poets – Ambroggio Prize


A $1,000 prize is awarded for a book-length poetry manuscript in Spanish with an English translation. The winner will be published by the University of Arizona Press, renowned for its Latinx and Indigenous literature.

Weisman Art Museum, University of Minnesota – Native American Artist-in-Residence

A two-year residency for Hopi and Pueblo artists supports art-making and engagement with the MniSota Native and campus communities, culminating in new work displayed at the museum. Total stipend and supplies: $69,300.

Center For Urban Pedagogy (CUP) – Making Policy Public

The NYC-based program connects organizers/advocates with visual designers/illustrators to create free projects that break down complex social justice issues and policies into easy-to-understand visual explanations. Designers receive $4,000-$7,000, depending on the scope.

SPIE — International Day of Light Photo Contest

Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work to this year’s theme, “The Power of Light,” which explores the impact of light on our lives, communities, and planet. Cash prizes range from $750 to $2,500

Tyler School of Art and Architecture – Edgar Heap of Birds Family Artist Residency

Open to artists whose work focuses on the history and lived experience of North American Indigenous people. Offered January–May 2025 at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture in Philadelphia. Artists receive a $3,500/month stipend, among other benefits.
